Logistics
The task of speedy and safe receipt of all purchased equipment at ASM warehouses from the O.E.M.’s premises is the prime responsibility of the Logistics department.
Consignments arrive in 20’ & 40’ containers; both by sea and air-freight at regular intervals in sizeable numbers.
The onus of arranging the freight, insurance and clearance of these consignments is on the Logistics department.
The most challenging consignment invariably is the Pyrotechnic consignment; with its Licenses and Permit requirements in view of its hazardous and explosive nature.
Exbonding and clearance of items used during the process of repair; under our SRU licence is also the function of this department.
“DEMURRAGE” is an ugly word; which is the DREAD of this DEPARTMENT!
