Liferaft Servicing

In response to customer requests for back-up service for the brands of liferafts sold by us and in an attempt to ensure integrity of OEM’s product guarantees for the liferafts, Moloobhoys felt that it was essential for us to support our main customers with reliable service facilities, ensuring compliance of procedure and product / component replacement at reasonable prices.

With this in mind, we have set up a first pilot service station within our existing premises at our Head Office in Mumbai and Mr. Robert Hill has inspected and taken photographs of the same.

The liferaft station approval was received from the Directorate General of Shipping – Government of India on 1st January 2009 together with authorization to their appointed members. The station was made operational from the first day and we have undertaken servicing on a daily basis thereafter.

We anticipate a volume of 15 to 40 liferafts a month for annual servicing at this pilot station, which will be done in accordance with the latest IMO Regulations viz. MSC 55(66) Amendments MSC 761(18).

We do not anticipate or expect this to be an independent and stand alone activity, but more as part and parcel of our other capabilities to offer our valued customers a single point source for marine safety and navigation supply and service.
