Information Technology
Although our IT department is one of the smallest at Moloobhoys, we believe it is one of our most productive.
The pride of the department is the “All India Online” capability, custom designed for us by Tata Consultancy Services. This facilitates system generated stock reports, delivery notes, invoices, purchase and work orders, corresponding inspection certificates - all of which are integral to our daily operations.
With a simple click of a button, we are able to see which orders are in progress in Chennai, what material has moved from Mumbai to Vizag and how many outstanding invoices are pending in Kolkata, for example.
We also have the Moloobhoy Online Databank, Moloobhoy Online - Sales Credit System and the Tally software used by Accounts to maintain their records. The IT department has created our corporate website, conducted the virtual tour and created the Moloobhoy ring-tone/caller tune that will soon be integrated on all Moloobhoy member cell-phones.
We are currently in the process of going as paperless as possible. IT is working on creating an Admin software, and an Engineering Skill Maintenance databank that will then be used with incoming freshmen engineers, registered at the training school.
Finally, we are working on Moloobhoy Member Online – web access to a series of confidential information and databanks that is username and password protected, as well as working with the OEM Login section on our website which will provide OEMs will a complete update on all information pertaining to them.
If an OEM would therefore like to know which Invoices are pending, which remittances are in the bank waiting to be wired, which orders are being placed on them by Moloobhoys, what material is en route to India, what is in stock etc. then he will have to log on to his section of the website, and all that information is readily available to him.
